The campaign is dynamically generated to create a slightly different experience for each player and with each new attempt. Remnant campaign tells the same story through different worlds. The multilayered complex holds its secrets including a weapon, traits, bits of lore and more. However, this peaceful area is more than just a simple hub. Most NPCs reside here, offering quests, information and services. Ward 13 serves as your safe haven throughout the game. You can spend up to 20 points into each trait you have available. The trait points are acquired by leveling up or by finding the Tomes of Knowledge hidden within the game’s world. Traits can be obtained by finding secrets or as an accolade for specific actions and milestones. They provide various bonuses to specialize your character. Traits are your passive attributes that gradually enhance your character with each point spent.Weapon mods can be purchased from vendors and sometimes require items obtained by killing bosses. These mods have an immediate impact on the gameplay providing tangible effects that can be changed at any given time to suit your combat needs. Weapon mods are attachments that change the visual design of the weapon while adding a passive or active ability to it.The upgrades provide a flat increase in damage and armor to help you keep up with the enemy’s increase in power. The upgrade system follows a linear pattern of spending an increasingly higher amount of scraps and materials of different quality. The most basic part of the progression is upgrading your gear.The progression in Remnant is threefold, comprising of various ways to improve your gear and toughen your character: The gear and traits from the two other archetypes can be purchased or unlocked early in the game. But while each archetype provides a different set of gear, weapons and traits, they do not entail long term gameplay changes. During the tutorial mission you will be able to choose one for your character. There are three archetypes, or classes if you will, available in Remnant: Scrapper, Ex-cultist and Hunter.
